In the Middle of a Faith Fight

Have you ever just wanted to throw in the towel? I mean, really who hasn’t? But for the believer, it’s not really an option. We are taught that all we have to do is persevere. We hear testimony after testimony about how someone never gave up on their faith and God came through. We read bible story after bible story about how someone waited and saw their promise come to pass. Preachers preach that you should come to church to be around like minded people and get encouragement from your brothers and sisters in Christ. I guess the question I have is, “For how long?”. I’m only human. I’m sure of it. God created us in his likeness but we are not Him. So again I ask, “For how long am I to persevere?”. It would be a lot easier if I could just sit in the house and wait for God to come through but since I have to work and do other daily activities, I now have more opportunities to mess up before what I’m standing in faith for comes to pass. Now please don’t get me wrong, God has showed up plenty of times in my life, especially when I needed Him. My impatience is stemming from years of waiting for something that isn’t an emergency (per se) to come to pass. Like an abundant life. I work hard, have all of my adult life but the promise of abundant living has eluded me for years. I am not a selfish person. I know that there are people in the world who has way less than me but my expectation and my hope lies in Jesus and His promise is what I am standing on. It’s just that now I’m ready to sit down. I’m getting tired of standing. So what do I do? I keep persevering. When I think back on how I lived my life and how long God had to wait for me to come to Him, I’m humbled. So God, take your time. I’ll be waiting for my abundant life here or in heaven, either way I know your promise will come to pass.

What's Next?

Well… As you may know, I completed one item on my bucket list. I became a prayer volunteer for the radio station KSBJ. So now what? I have 14 more things to do and I really don’t know which one I want to do next. I was thinking about learning Spanish but since I have been writing and vlogging, I don’t know if I have the time to put into learning it right now. I want to do something that I can video tape. I think that I am becoming more and more addicted to vlogging. I like video taping but I am camera shy. I remember there was a time when I was much more outgoing. Now, I am fine with just staying in the house. The Lord is dealing with me on this issue though. I find myself in situations where I have to mingle and talk to new people. It’s challenging but if it’s what I’m called to do then so be it. So now what? I’m back to that question again. I think I will go visit somewhere. I looked back at all of the places that I’ve been and realized that I’ve only been to four states. I got a lot of traveling to do.

Hey! Here’s an idea… Send in a picture with you wearing one of my t-shirts and maybe I will come to visit your city. I have to save up but I am determined to visit every state in the U.S., so why not your town? I like that idea! I really don’t know which cities to visit when I go to a state, so this will give me plenty of ideas! Perfect! Thanks! Ms. Reese

The First Item

Well, I completed the first item on my bucket list and man does it feel good! I am an official prayer volunteer for the radio station KSBJ. They had an appreciation dinner for all of the volunteers so it was perfect timing that I completed the training. I enjoy being a prayer volunteer and I really feel like I’m a connection between the person that I’m praying for and God. Intercessory prayer is very important and I really can’t think of a better way to be on someone’s mind than them praying for you. I have fourteen more items on my list and I can’t wait to check off another item. Any suggestions on which one I should go for next?

Hey everybody!

My website is finally up! I created it myself and I’m really proud of what I did. I still have to make some videos to put on it but the major stuff is up. I went to my church’s Women Who Win conference and I listened to a speaker named Stacia Pierce. She was AWESOME! All of the speakers were fabulous though. What Mrs. Pierce said hit a nerve. I realize that I am my own worse enemy when it comes to making money from something that I thought of. I let self doubt, fear, and laziness get in the way of what I should be doing. Not anymore though! I realize that I can’t do this journey by myself and I encourage all of you to join me. I know Jesus is with me but He said that life is not made to spend alone. So all I got to say is…It’s on now!

Well to start things off I made a bucket list of all the things that I want to do before I die. Yes, I got the idea from the movie “The Bucket List” but I really don’t want to wait until I’m diagnosed with some terminally ill disease or I’m in my seventies or I win the lottery. I am going to do my best to accomplish all of these things in the next twenty years.

1. To visit every state in the US.

2. To visit every continent.

3. To learn spanish.

4. To learn how to play the drums.

5. To learn how to belly dance.

6. To jump out of an airplane.

7. To go on a missions trip.

8. To become a prayer volunteer for the radio station KSBJ.

9. To become a certified aerobic instructor.

10. To learn how to play tennis.

11. To do a biking charity marathon.

12. To have my house paid off.

13. To become a personal trainer.

14. To be involved in a spanish ministry.

15. To go on a rollerblading adventure trip.

The purpose of my blog is to: 1) keep myself focused, 2) encourage myself, and 3) hopefully get encouragement from other people.
